Rich Hamlin joined ADC's Charleston office in 2007 and in 2015 he moved to the Greenville office. Rich received a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from The Citadel and a Master of Science in civil engineering with structural engineering and materials emphasis from Virginia Tech. Prior to joining our structural team, Rich served as an structural engineer-in-training, designing and analyzing large high temperature, high pressure ducts in coal-fired power plants for Southern Company. Prior to working in the structural engineering field, he served for two years in campus ministry at Reformed University Fellowship of Texas A & M University. Rich‘s primary responsibilities include structural design and analysis, as well as drafting. When not in the office, Rich can normally be found spending time with his wife, Olivia, and their four children, reading books, or at church.
In addition to serving ADC, Rich also is a member of the Structural Engineers Association of SC, and also participates in the ACE Mentorship program. Rich also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Civil Engineering at The Citadel, and currently teaches undergraduate-level structural analysis.
Some of Rich’s recent projects include the seismic analysis of James Simons Elementary School, Trident Technical College Nursing and Science Building, Ashley Hall Dining Facility, Roper Helipad, Self Regional Hospital, and Mason Prep's lower school wing.
